Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta presented the Delhi Budget 2025-26 in the Assembly on March 25. She began her speech by criticizing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the previous government.

During her speech, CM Rekha Gupta used poetry to make her point. She said:
“If you have faith, a path will always appear,
Even a lamp can burn in the face of strong winds.”

Budget Focus: Development for All

Rekha Gupta said,
“This budget is based on the principles of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas’ (Together, for everyone’s development and effort).”

She blamed the previous government for Delhi’s problems, saying:

  • Poor roads
  • Polluted Yamuna river
  • Severe air pollution
  • Weak healthcare services

“In the last 10 years, Delhi has fallen behind in every aspect of development,” she said.

Previous Government Damaged Delhi

Rekha Gupta accused the former AAP government of damaging Delhi’s economy, comparing it to termites eating away at the city’s growth.

She further said,
“This year’s budget is historic— ₹1 lakh crore. It will bring overall progress and create new opportunities in education, health, transport, and infrastructure.”

A Step Towards a Smart City

According to CM Rekha Gupta, ₹28,000 crore has been allocated for major projects, including:
Roads and bridges
Drainage systems
Transport improvements
Public services

She emphasized that this budget will help transform Delhi into a modern and smart city.
