The role of slum and cluster areas was crucial in the 2025 Delhi Assembly Elections. According to BJP sources, the party’s vote share in these regions, which used to be around 20 to 25 percent, has now risen to 60 percent. This significant shift has given the BJP a strong lead in the election.

BJPโ€™s Strategy Worked in Slums

Analysts believe that BJPโ€™s strategy in these areas was highly successful, leading to losses for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Previously, AAP had a strong influence in slum regions. However, this time voters chose BJP in large numbers.

The key reasons behind this shift are believed to be central government welfare schemes, including free ration distribution and other social benefits. These initiatives seem to have strengthened BJPโ€™s connection with slum residents.

BJP Leads in 29 Seats

The election results show BJP leading in 29 constituencies with a margin of more than 10 percent. The most significant lead is in the Mustafabad constituency, where BJP is ahead by 39 percent. Interestingly, Mustafabad is a Muslim-majority area, which makes this lead even more remarkable.

All Eyes on the Final Results

This unexpected surge by BJP has changed the political landscape in Delhi. The increased support from slum voters has shifted the election dynamics. Now, all eyes are on the final results to see if BJP can convert this wave into a complete victory.
