Former Indian cricketer Ashish Nehra, now a coach for the Gujarat Titans in the IPL, recently set a remarkable example of gratitude. Despite his successful career, he never forgot his roots or the coach who shaped his cricket journey.
A Heartwarming Story
Commentator and sports broadcaster Padamjeet Sahrawat shared this inspiring story in an interview. He revealed that Ashish Nehra gifted a house to his childhood coach, Tarak Sinha, who used to train him at the Sonnet Cricket Academy in Delhi.
The Incident
One day, Coach Tarak Sinha arrived late to practice. Curious, Nehra asked him why he was late. The coach explained that his landlord had given him a notice to vacate the rented house, so he was searching for a new place to stay.
Hearing this, Nehra was deeply moved. Without telling anyone, he made a big decision to gift his coach a house.
A Surprising Gift
After three days, when the coach returned to practice, Nehra handed him the keys to a new house. He said, “It takes three days to buy a house. The renovation is going on. You can shift in 10 days.”
A Lesson in Gratitude
This act by Ashish Nehra is a beautiful reminder of how students should honor their teachers. His gesture shows that true success is not just about achievements but also about giving back to those who guide us.
