In Uttar Pradesh politics, Akhilesh Yadav, the former Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party (SP) President, has made a strong statement against his party’s rebel MLAs. For the past few months, Akhilesh had remained silent on the issue, but he finally broke his silence after three rebel MLAs met Amit Shah, Home Minister and BJP leader.

Meeting with Amit Shah

The three SP rebel MLAs who met Amit Shah are:

  1. Abhay Singh (MLA from Gosainganj)
  2. Rakesh Pratap Singh (MLA from Gauriganj)
  3. Vinod Chaturvedi (MLA from Kalpi)

After this meeting, Akhilesh Yadav made a cryptic post on social media, which many believe was directed at these rebel leaders. He wrote:
“Those who betray their own door, wander door to door.”

This message was seen as a warning to those rebelling against the party.

The Controversial Meeting

The news of the meeting came to light when Abhay Singh shared a photo of the gathering. The picture also showed MLAs from Kalpi and Gauriganj along with BJP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Seth.

Background of the Rebellion

During the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, voting was held for 10 Rajya Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. The Samajwadi Party fielded 3 candidates, while the BJP fielded 8 candidates. However, around 8 SP MLAs crossed over and voted for BJP, causing a political stir.

In addition to the three rebels, Manoj Pandey from Unchahar, Pooja Pal, and Rakesh Pandey were also seen with Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak on the voting day. Their victory signs in the photos indicated their support for BJP.

Will the Rebels Return?

After the Lok Sabha elections, when SP won the most seats in the state, there were rumors that some rebel MLAs wanted to return to the party. However, party sources claimed that Akhilesh Yadav put a full stop on their re-entry into Samajwadi Party.

Conclusion:
Akhilesh Yadav’s recent post clearly shows his strong stance against party rebels. The political situation in Uttar Pradesh remains tense, and it will be interesting to see how SP and BJP handle these political defections in the upcoming elections.
