Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, and his sister, Priyanka Gandhi, who is also a Member of Parliament, may visit Prayagraj to take a holy dip at the Mahakumbh. The Uttar Pradesh Congress is preparing for their visit. However, the exact date of their trip has not been finalized yet. Sources say a decision will be made soon.
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi was supposed to visit Mahakumbh on February 4, but due to parliamentary proceedings, he could not go.
When Will They Go?
Sources suggest that both leaders may visit Mahakumbh soon for the holy bath. The final decision about the date will be taken by Rahul Gandhi himself. Some reports also suggest that they might visit on February 16.
Plans for the Visit May Be Finalized Soon
The first phase of the Parliament session has now ended. So, there are high chances that their visit will be planned soon. Every day, devotees from all over the world are reaching Prayagraj to participate in Mahakumbh. Since the event will end on March 26, there are only a few weeks left.
Over 53 Lakh Devotees Have Taken a Holy Dip
On Friday, a large number of devotees gathered for the holy bath. As per reports, by 12 PM, around 53.95 lakh people had taken a dip in the Sangam. However, heavy traffic jams in the city have caused inconvenience to the visitors. In Sulem Sarai, long lines of vehicles stretched up to 1 kilometer, making movement difficult.
