In Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh, heavy rain and strong storms for the second day in a row have badly affected normal life. Due to this sudden weather change, wheat crops standing in the fields have been damaged, causing big losses to the farmers. Many villages reported their wheat crops getting spoiled.
Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav also reacted to the situation and said that farmers will only be heard when the BJP government is gone.

Storm Destroys Wheat Crops in Hundreds of Bighas

By April, wheat crops are usually ready for harvest. But this sudden rain and storm ruined everything. Fields ready for harvest were flooded with water, increasing the risk of crops rotting. Many villages have reported crop damage, which has made the farmers’ problems even worse.

Apart from this, the bad weather also caused accidents in different areas. Several trees fell on roads, blocking traffic. Some vehicles also collided with each other. Luckily, no major loss of life has been reported.

Akhilesh Yadav Targets the Government

Reacting to the loss faced by farmers, Akhilesh Yadav shared a photo of flooded wheat fields and expressed sympathy for the farmers. Taking a dig at the government, he wrote:
“Gareebi mein gehun geela… jab jaayenge BJP wale, tab hogi sunwai!”
(This is a Hindi saying which means poor people’s troubles never end — and things will only get better when the ruling government leaves.)

The situation remains difficult for the farmers, as both the crop loss and poor weather have added to their worries.
