The Champions Trophy tournament is starting today. In the first match, host Pakistan will face New Zealand. However, before the tournament begins, Pakistan’s captain, Mohammed Rizwan, spoke about his team’s chances.
Pakistan’s Weakness Under Pressure
Mohammed Rizwan admitted that Pakistan struggles under pressure. He said:
📢 “If you look at our past performances, you will see that we often collapse under pressure. But now, it’s time to improve.”
Past 10 Years of Performance
Rizwan further explained:
📢 “If you check our records from the past 10 years, you will notice that we have faced this issue again and again. Although we have performed well, won big matches, and even became the No.1 Test team, we still need to fix our habit of collapsing under pressure. I hope we will not repeat this mistake in the Champions Trophy.”
Recently, Pakistan lost the Tri-Series final against New Zealand by 5 wickets, which highlighted this weakness again.
Pakistan as Defending Champion
This time, Pakistan is playing as the defending champion.
🏆 In 2017, Pakistan won the Champions Trophy by defeating India in the final under Ahmed Shehzad’s captaincy.
Now, the big question is—
❓ Can Pakistan defend their title on home ground?
