GATE 2025: Registration Starts Tomorrow, Exam Dates, Eligibility, and Exam Pattern

Registration Details:

  • The registration for GATE 2025 will start on August 24, 2024. IIT Roorkee will manage the registration process.
  • Students can apply through the official website: gate2025.iitr.ac.in.

Important Dates:

  • Online application starts: August 24, 2024
  • Last date for online application: September 26, 2024
  • Last date for online application with late fee: October 7, 2024

Exam Dates:

  • GATE 2025 exams will be held on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025.
  • The exam will be conducted in two shifts:
  • Morning shift: 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
  • Afternoon shift: 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM

Eligibility Criteria:

  • There is no age limit for GATE 2025.
  • Candidates must be in their third or final year of graduation, or have completed a degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts, or Humanities from a recognized institution.

Application Fees:

  • General category (including foreign candidates): ₹1800 per test paper
  • Women, SC, ST, and PWD category candidates: ₹900 per test paper
  • Fees must be paid online.

Exam Pattern:

  • The GATE 2025 exam will have 30 papers, all in English.
  • The exam will be 3 hours long and consist of three types of questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.
  • Each question will have four options, with only one correct answer.
  • The exam will be out of 100 marks:
  • General Aptitude: 15 marks
  • Engineering Mathematics: 13 marks
  • Subject-specific questions: 72 marks
  • MCQs will have negative marking: 1/3 marks for a wrong answer in 1-mark questions and 2/3 marks for 2-mark questions. There is no negative marking for MSQ and NAT questions.

GATE 2025 scores will be valid for three years from the date of announcement.
