The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to announce the Central Contract List for 2025 soon. The delay in releasing the list is due to the Champions Trophy 2025, as the board wants to evaluate players’ performances before finalizing the contracts. Last year, the list was released in February, but this time, it has been postponed.

Several players who were part of the previous BCCI Central Contract might be removed this year due to their lack of participation in international matches.

Players Likely to Be Dropped from BCCI Central Contract

1️⃣ Avesh Khan

  • Bowler Avesh Khan played 6 T20 matches in 2024, taking 6 wickets.
  • His last ODI match was in 2023.
  • He may not be included in the new contract list.

2️⃣ Rajat Patidar

  • Patidar was in the “C Grade” contract last year.
  • He did not play any international matches in 2024.
  • He performed well in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and was the second-highest run scorer.
  • However, he was not selected for India’s T20 series against England.
  • He is also captaining RCB in IPL 2025, but he may still miss out on a contract.

3️⃣ KS Bharat

  • The wicketkeeper-batsman played his last international match in February 2024.
  • Due to limited appearances for Team India, he is expected to be excluded from the contract list.

4️⃣ Shardul Thakur

  • Shardul performed well in the Ranji Trophy and could be selected for the Test series against England in June.
  • However, his place in the central contract list remains uncertain.

5️⃣ Ravichandran Ashwin

  • Ashwin has retired from international cricket, so he will not be part of the contract list.

Shreyas Iyer May Return to the Contract List

  • Shreyas Iyer was left out of the 2024 BCCI Central Contract because he did not take domestic cricket seriously.
  • However, after his strong performance in the Champions Trophy 2025, he might return to the central contract list this year.

The final BCCI Central Contract List 2025 will be announced soon, and it will be interesting to see which players make the cut.
