The fourth T20 match between India and England has become a hot topic of discussion, especially regarding Harshit Rana’s concussion replacement. This controversy started after Shivam Dube was hit on the helmet by a ball during the game in Pune. Due to the concussion, Harshit replaced Dube and went on to take 3 crucial wickets, leading India to victory. Now, Indiaโ€™s bowling coach Morne Morkel has revealed what exactly happened after Shivam Dube returned to the dressing room.

Harshit Rana Was Having Dinner

After India won the match by 15 runs, Morne Morkel shared details during the post-match presentation:

“When Shivam Dube returned to the dressing room, he complained of mild pain in his head. We immediately discussed a replacement option with the match referee. The final decision was in his hands. When it was approved, Harshit Rana was having dinner. We had to get him ready quickly to go out and bowl.”

How Did Shivam Dube Get Injured?

Shivam Dube came to bat after India lost their fourth wicket at 57 runs in the 8th over. He played a responsible knock, scoring 53 runs off 34 balls, including 7 fours and 2 sixes.

During his innings, a delivery from Jamie Overton struck Dube’s helmet. Though he continued playing initially, he later experienced head pain, leading to Harshit Rana being brought in as a replacement.

Harshitโ€™s excellent bowling performance, taking 3 wickets, played a crucial role in India’s win.
