A major accident occurred in an illegal firecracker factory in Sonipat district, Haryana. Due to a sudden fire, three people lost their lives, and two bodies have been recovered. The explosion created panic in the village, and the blast caused cracks in nearby houses. Seven people, including six women, were severely burned and have been referred to Rohtak PGI for treatment.
The fire department and police reached the spot after receiving the news of the fire. ACP Jeet Singh arrived at the scene with his team.
Illegal Firecracker Factory in a House
It is reported that an illegal firecracker factory was being operated in a house in Ridhau village, Sonipat. The factory was run by a local resident named Ved, who has fled after the incident. It is suspected that a gas cylinder leak caused the fire, and the workers inside the factory didn’t have a chance to escape.

After the fire started, there was chaos in the village. The villagers managed to pull some people out of the factory. The bodies of the deceased were badly burned. Ved’s daughter and other workers were also seriously injured. Firefighters, senior police officers, and an FSL team arrived at the scene. The Sonipat police are investigating the matter seriously.
What Did the Police Say?
ACP Jeet Beniwal provided details of the incident, saying that the police reached the site after hearing about the explosion in Ridhau village. A large amount of sulfur, which is used in making firecrackers, was found. The house where the firecrackers were being made was located in the middle of the village. The investigation is ongoing to determine how long the illegal factory had been operating.
