Vinesh Phogat’s First Reaction After Joining Congress: ‘The Fight is Not Over’

Famous wrestler Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia joined the Congress party on Friday (September 6). Both may contest the Haryana Assembly elections on a Congress ticket. However, they avoided directly answering questions about running in the elections, with Congress suggesting that the details will be revealed soon.

Vinesh Phogat expressed her gratitude to the people of the country, saying she hopes to meet their expectations. She mentioned that during tough times, it becomes clear who supports you. She noted that while the BJP abandoned them, other parties were with them. She praised Congress for fighting for women’s respect both on the streets and in Parliament.

Vinesh Phogat also reflected on their protest at Jantar Mantar, saying the BJP considered them a “spent force” and their IT cell worked hard to prove it. Despite this, she said, they proved themselves in the Olympics.

Fight Not Over – Vinesh Phogat

Phogat emphasized that the fight is not over, and she continues to battle in court. She expressed her commitment to working for people and assured her sisters that she stands with them, and Congress supports them.

Bajrang Punia added that the BJP claims their motive was political. He mentioned that while they had invited the BJP to their movement, only Congress came. He said they will work hard to strengthen Congress. He also noted that while the country was sad when Vinesh Phogat was out of the Olympics, some in the IT cell were celebrating.
