In a recent interview, MM Keeravaani spoke about how he felt upon getting global recognition for a song he claims not to be his ‘best’.

MM Keeravaani, known for his illustrious career in music composition, recently garnered global recognition for the song “Naatu Naatu” from SS Rajamouli’s film RRR. Despite the song winning a Golden Globe and an Oscar, Keeravaani remains humble about its success. In an interview with Indian Express, he candidly mentioned that “Naatu Naatu” is not his best work, despite the international acclaim it received.

Reflecting on the timing of his global recognition, Keeravaani expressed a philosophical view, stating that recognition arrives when it’s meant to, regardless of whether it’s perceived as late or early in one’s career. He emphasized that such accolades are unpredictable and can come from unexpected quarters.

Interestingly, even after winning the Oscar, Keeravaani initially didn’t feel excited about the achievement. It was media mogul Ramoji Rao who encouraged him to value the Oscar nomination and strive to win. Keeravaani acknowledged that Rao’s words gave him the motivation to pursue the award seriously, realizing its significance.

Looking ahead, Keeravaani has several projects lined up. In Hindi cinema, he is known as MM Kreem and has composed music for films like “Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha” starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu, and “Tanvi The Great” featuring Anupam Kher. In Telugu cinema, he is working on the music for Chiranjeevi’s “Vishwambhara” and Pawan Kalyan’s “Hari Hara Veera Mallu.”

Despite his grounded perspective on success and recognition, MM Keeravaani continues to be a prominent figure in the Indian music industry, contributing his musical talent to various films across different languages.
