West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging the creation of a strict central law and the establishment of fast-track courts to ensure justice in rape cases.

In her letter, Mamata Banerjee highlighted the alarming statistic that around 90 rape cases are reported every day across India. She expressed her concern and stressed the need for a strong central law to address the increasing incidents of rape in the country.

Mamata Banerjee wrote, “Respected Prime Minister, I want to draw your attention to the regular and rising incidents of rape across the country. According to the available data, many of these cases involve both rape and murder. It is horrifying to see that approximately 90 rape cases occur every day in the country.”

The Chief Minister emphasized that a tough law and fast-track courts are essential to ensure justice for the victims.
