During an election rally in Surankot, Jammu and Kashmir, Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi launched a fierce attack on PM Narendra Modi. He stated that the “old Narendra Modi” is no longer around, and that the “56-inch chest” he used to show is now missing in Parliament.
Rahul Gandhi claimed that the “psychology” of PM Modi has been broken by the India alliance. He accused the BJP and RSS of spreading hatred across the country, stating that hatred benefits no one.
“Hatred Can Only Be Overcome with Love”
Rahul emphasized that hatred cannot be countered with more hatred. He explained that the ideological battle is between those spreading hate and those promoting love. He mentioned that they have opened “shops of love” from Kanyakumari to Kashmir and from Manipur to Maharashtra. He asserted that their efforts to combat hatred have been rooted in love.

Focus on Local Governance
Rahul expressed a desire for governance that is not dictated from Delhi but originates locally. He pointed out the unemployment issues caused by PM Modi’s policies, accusing him of benefiting a few billionaires and harming small businesses through decisions like the GST and demonetization.
Allegations Against BJP
Rahul accused the BJP of dividing communities, stating they create divisions among castes, religions, states, and languages. He specifically mentioned attempts to pit the Pahari and Gujjar communities against each other. He concluded by stating that their project of division will fail and emphasized the importance of unity among all people.
