In the Jammu & Kashmir Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fielded several Muslim candidates on different seats. However, the party faced heavy losses in these constituencies. On one seat, a candidate received only 760 votes.

Let’s talk about the Anantnag seat first. BJP had nominated Syed Peerzada Wajahat Hussain as their candidate here. By 2 PM, he had received only 1,508 votes and was in 7th place. On this seat, Congress candidate Peerzada Mohammad Syed was leading.

On the Anantnag West seat, BJP’s candidate Mohammad Rafiq Wani got 6,394 votes. At the time of writing, National Conference’s Abdul Majeed Bhat was heading towards victory on this seat. In Pampore, BJP’s Bilal Ahmad Bhat had received only 760 votes. Here, National Conference’s Hasnain Masoodi was leading.

What’s the Situation in Shopian and Rajpora?

In Shopian, BJP’s candidate Javid Ahmad Qadri received 6,895 votes. On this seat, Independent candidate Shabir Ahmad Kulle was leading. On the Rajpora seat, BJP had fielded Arshid Ahmad Bhat, who got 5,554 votes. National Conference’s Ghulam Mohiuddin Mir was leading here with 25,433 votes.

From the Shrigufwara-Bijbehara seat, BJP’s Sofi Yousuf received 3,699 votes. On this seat, National Conference’s Basheer Ahmad Shah Veeri was ahead. BJP’s candidate from Inderwal, Tarak Hussain Keen, received 9,550 votes, while Independent candidate Pyarelal Sharma won by 643 votes. From Banihal, BJP’s Mohammad Saleem Bhat was the candidate and he got 5,466 votes, while National Conference’s Sajjad Shaheen was leading with 32,716 votes.
