15 August Box Office Clash: 15 August i.e. Thursday is going to be a very special day. This day was going to be the biggest day of the year in terms of box office. But one by one many big films postponed their release dates. Earlier, Singham Again and Pushpa 2 were going to clash on this day. But both postponed the release dates of the films. After this, once again there was a competition to capture this date. This competition was between South and Bollywood. Bollywood announced the release of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao’s horror-comedy Stree 2 on this day. John Abraham’s action film Veda was also locked for 15 August. Akshay Kumar’s Sarfira had recently flopped, so he also considered this date suitable for himself as soon as Pushpa 2 was postponed and chose this date for the release of Khel Khel Mein. While the Tamil film Tangalan based on Kolar Gold Fields was announced to be released on 15 August. Ram Pothineni’s action film Double Smart is also releasing on the same day.
Now there is bound to be a clash between Bollywood and South, but three Bollywood films also seem to be entangled with each other. Akshay Kumar and John Abraham are in dire need of a hit. John’s Veda is an action movie. Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein is the remake of Perfect Strangers. The trailer of horror comedy Stree 2 is already making headlines, while South’s Tangalan and Double Ismart are releasing pan India.
If we look at the whole scenario, then the release of five big films in one day is certainly not going to be a profitable deal for anyone. But the three Bollywood films have to compete with each other first, after that they will have to grapple with the content of South. If we talk about the initial lead, then Stree 2 has gone far ahead of the other two Hindi films. On the other hand, if we look at acting and content, then Vikram’s Tangalan has done a surprising job in every aspect. The decision will be taken on August 15, but the child’s feet are visible in the cradle.
